The Home Avenue Pedestrian Bridge links South Oak Park to the rest of the Village

The Home Avenue Pedestrian Bridge is the only pedestrian bridge in Oak Park in the corridor. The two middle schools and the high school are located north of the Eisenhower Corridor, so students living in South Oak Park must cross the Ike to get to school.

If the alignment of the expressway, CTA, or CSX railroad changes, then the vertical supports will be in the wrong place. This will require reconstruction of this bridge and any other bridge facing the same situation
