Citizens for Appropriate Transportation (CAT)
Eisenhower
Transportation Corridor
CAT
MISSION STATEMENT
Citizens
for Appropriate Transportation (CAT) is a citizen organization formed in response to the threat of expanding
the Eisenhower Expressway. CAT is
dedicated to improving the quality of life in the Eisenhower Corridor from
Austin to Hillside.
CAT believes:
·
Adding lanes to
the Eisenhower Expressway is unnecessary.
·
Expanding the Eisenhower
Expressway would harm our communities without reducing traffic congestion.
·
The state should
study the full spectrum of alternatives, taking into account all transportation
modes.
·
The existing
environmental and social impacts of the Eisenhower Expressway harm our
communities and should be reduced.
·
Active and
informed public participation are necessary to ensure that community concerns are addressed.
Membership in CAT is
informal, but open to all individuals and organizations who subscribe to these
beliefs. Membership is free. To join, click on the CAT Home Page, then
click Contact Us to send an e-mail with your name, address, and e-mail address.
