DOWNTOWN CHICAGO HAS THE LARGEST CONCENTRATION OF JOBS IN THE METROPOLITAN AREA

Downtown Chicago (Sears Tower is in the background of the photo) has the largest concentration of jobs in the metropolitan region so access to these jobs is critical.

This photo shows the three transportation modes (Expressway, CTA Blue Line, and CSX freight tracks). Columbus Park (designed by noted landscape architect Jens Jensen) is on the left of the photograph. IDOT wants to move the center ramps at Austin and Harlem to the right-hand side of the roadway.
