THE CTA BLUE LINE HAS
MUCH MORE CAPACITY THAN THE EISENHOWER EXPRESSWAY
The Eisenhower Expressway does not have excess capacity, but the CTA
Blue Line does. The expressway carries a
large number of vehicles with a small number of people in each vehicle. By contrast, the CTA Blue Line uses a much
smaller number of vehicles (trains) to carry a large number of people.
